Terms of use
The service
Oernu turns the speech in your videos into subtitles: it listens to the Spanish, translates it to Arabic, lets you edit the lines and exports subtitle files and videos.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
Your videos
Only upload or import videos you have the right to use — for example your own videos, or ones you have permission to subtitle. This applies to links from YouTube and Google Drive too. Your videos stay yours: we use them only to make your subtitles and videos.
Minutes
Processing and rendering use minutes from your packages. Minutes are held when a step starts and returned if the step fails. Packages are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. While Oernu is in its demo period, payments are simulated and nothing is charged.
Automatic results
Subtitles are made by AI and can contain mistakes. Review them before you publish.
Changes
We may change the service and these terms. When we change something that matters, we will say so here and update the date at the top.
Privacy
What we keep
- Your account: name, email and your password, stored only as a secure hash.
- Your projects: the videos you upload and the subtitles and videos we make from them.
- Usage: the minutes each project used and how each processing step went, so we can bill correctly and fix problems.
- Your edits and saved terms: see Your edits below.
Who processes it
Your videos are processed on our servers. The audio and the text of the lines are sent to AI service providers that do the listening and the translation for us. They process it only to deliver your result.
Cookies
We use one cookie, to keep you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Projects stay until you delete them. Deleting a project with its files removes the videos and subtitles from our servers.
Your edits
When you save changes in the editor, we record each changed line: the Spanish text, the Arabic before and after your change, and which engines made the original. Only the text of the lines is recorded — never the video or the audio.
We use these records to make Oernu more accurate: to find mistakes the engines make again and again and fix them for everyone after we review them, and later to improve our own translation models.
The recorded lines stay with us after a project is deleted, so what was learned is not lost.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Help improve Oernu. From then on, your changes are not recorded.
Saved terms — names and words you choose to “Always use for my projects” — are used only in your own account. You can see and remove them in Settings → Saved terms.
